  18. A filebone for IGA_Net<tm> File Distribution System (IGA_FDS) is
  19. maintained by Jessica Veinot, Filebone Coordinator, at 440:1/5 and
  20. Jessica Veinot, File Vault, at 440:1/6.

  24. The filebone is for the benefit of members of IGA_Net(tm), providing 
  25. the foundation for the automatic transfer of files as file echoes,
  26. supported by an automatic announcement mechanism.  Members may, and
  27. are encouraged, to furnish as much genealogical information as they
  28. can to the file echoes in place, and to consider establishing new
  29. file echoes as information of varying types becomes available to them.

  31. Software authors are encouraged to upload their software directly to
  32. the Filebone Coordinator's board at 440:1/5. If this is neither
  33. practical nor possible, then the software should be file-attached
  34. up through distribution channels to 440:1/5.
  35. Persons desiring to hatch genealogical data should also follow these
  36. same procedures.
  37. There are only two hatch sites in IGA_Net<tm>:

  40.         440:1/1, Zone Coordinator

  42. The Filebone Coordinator anticipates being an integral factor in 
  43. assisting IGA_Net<tm> members with their file requirements.

  46. To request a filebone conference, send a Netmail message as follows:
  47.  
  48.    The netmail should be sent directly to your "uplink". That is, the
  49.    system you regularly your echomail from. Your uplink will then, in
  50.    turn pass the request upward if (s)he does not already have the file
  51.    echo established.
  52.  
  53.        From: Your-Zone-440-Node-Number

  55.        To: ALLFIX or AREAMGR
  56.              ( then the address of your uplink)
  57.  
  58.          < This is usually accomplished by entering the word "ALLFIX"
  59.            followed by the << ENTER >> key, which will produce an
  60.            invoked comma << , >>, to which you should respond with
  61.            the node number.

  63.        Re: Your-Password

  65.    Your-Password is a password you have been allocated for ALLFIX.  If
  66.    you do not currently have a password, submit your request with a
  67.    password of your choice, and your initial request will be handled
  68.    by the target node.

  96. message. Everything below the tear line is ignored.

  113. where, in this example the file echo ITUS would be added, and the
  114. file echo ITUK would be deleted.  The "---" tearline MUST be
  115. specified to indicate the end of the list of requests.

  117. Certain filebone areas are restricted.  If your request for ALLFIX
  118. results in you receiving a message which states that you are not
  119. authorized to receive the file echo requested, you must contact the
  120. Filebone Coordinator at 440:1/5 and request authorization to
  121. receive it. The Filebone Coordinator's decision is based on decisions
  122. make by the coordinators of the network. You may also route these
  123. requests through your uplink or host connection.

  125. If you are granted access to a restricted conference, you are expected
  126. to honor the restrictions,if any, that are placed upon you.
